Our Mission
Building Up Black, Inc. is a non-profit organization that builds up members of marginalized groups, specifically focusing on Black and African-American communities. We focus our efforts on providing community resources that focus on the needs of children, families, and African American community organizations. We strive to consistently provide high quality, free or low cost, educational and enrichment programming that supports education, mental health, family stability, and community connectivity.
CEO & Program Director Amanda Chandler
As an educator with over a decade of experience with children and families, Mrs. Chandler knows the importance of a connected and strong community. She holds a Masters in Urban Education, and a Masters as a Reading Specialist.
